The hard black decorative treatment known as DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) combines the properties of diamantine carbon (hardness, insulation, chemical resistance) with those of graphite (black colour, elasticity).
DLC is a material produced in thin film form (the layers may be less than 1 µm thick) using vacuum deposit technology and characterised by an extreme degree of hardness. Moreover, DLC boasts a very low friction coefficient and remarkable chemical inertia, qualities that ensure excellent resistance to wear, to corrosion and to friction, as well as flexible hardness.
Procedure: Plasma-Enhanced-Chemical-Vapour-Deposition (PE-CVD)
Chemical resistance: inert to acids, lyes, oxidising and reductive chemical and organics solvents, hydrophobic and anti-allergic.
