You are absolutely right about the straps.

Straps are often seen as a simple commodity which is readily available, however, Blancpain sources its straps for the finest makers worldwide, where they are created in hand work.

Also, e.g. for croco strap, Blancpain uses mainly the full-cut parts of the croco skin, which further limits supply.

One small story from this year's Basel and Geneva fairs: I have visited many booths and played with the watches. At one very highly respected manufacture I have seen that the prestigious watches were fitted with cow leather straps embossed with a pattern like croco skin. 'Not a croco strap - item not for sale!' was printed as warning in the back!

Although it would make sense economically (with all those people touching the watches during the fairs), I have never seen such happen with Blancpain, always the real thing on display.

Also this is a nice story how Blancpain pays attention to the detail.

So, at the end of the day, quality has payoffs.

Cheers and congrats on your fantastic watch,
Magnus
