Impressions from the Blancpain Basel booth

Dear All,

you all know those days when you delve in pleasant anticipation towards a joyful event in your life, you prepare, ... and you try to get rid of your daily duties before, in most cases resulting in increased stress.

But then, finally, the day has come, and the first heralds of the moment have surfaced.

For us watch aficionadoes this very moment unveils always at Zurich mainstation, with the displays announcing the departure of the very promising Baselworld special trains:

Of course my first stop always is the Blancpain booth (and even if not, I would not tell...):

The theme was obvious: under water!

But before you really enter, you cannot help than to stop at the demonstration booth of Willy Moret, the energetic and charismatic master watchmaker who casts his spells over the audience while explaining the intricacies of Blancpain's newest marvel, the Carrousel Volant Une Minute. This man acts so fast it is impossible to get a really sharp picture:

Now, finally moving up the stairs, we enter the sactum of Blancpain's Basel home, the bistro area. The doors on the left wall side close the secret watch trade from the visitor's eye:

Now, the Bistro Blancpain is literally represents the heart of Blancpain. This oasis with its warm and elegant cradle of intimacy often is my personal refuge during a very hectic and busy fair, and I am oviously not the only one: On the left, a very good-humoured Marc A. Hayek, CEO of Blancpain, next to G. Nicolas Hayek, CEO of Swatch Group. Looks like they have something to celebrate...

The bistro would not be worthy of the Blancpain designation if it would not showcase the same attention to details as the watch manufacturer. Rest assured, it is there:

I hope you enjoyed this little excursion. More to follow (on events and watches) in the next couple of days!

Cheers,
Magnus
